- Basic RiderCourse (BRC)
- Basic RiderCourse 2 (BRC2)
- Returning Rider Basic RiderCourse (RRBRC)
- Advanced RiderCourse (ARC)
The BRC provides the student with basic formal instruction. After registering, you will receive an instructional email used to register free of charge for the “Basic” eCourse on the Motorcycle Safety Foundation (MSF) website. MSF and the Nebraska DMV require the eCourse to be successfully completed prior to attending the BRC. It takes approximately 3 hours to complete and introduces the student to rudimentary riding concepts, managing risk, and motorcycle operation. Once you pass the eCourse (minimum score of 80%), print your certificate and bring it to your scheduled class. The BRC consists of 6 hours of classroom instruction and 10 hours of riding activity, which take place over one weekend. We provide the training motorcycle. Successful completion of the BRC waives the requirement to take the Nebraska DMV written examination and road test. It qualifies the student for the Motorcycle Endorsement "M" on their operator's license.
Cost
- $275
This class is designed for riders who already have basic skills. Similar to the BRC, except speeds are higher and you must provide your own motorcycle. This is an excellent refresher course for practicing and renewing riding skills. This course includes an informal classroom component for discussing safety concepts based upon past riding experiences and current knowledge. It is a one-day, approximate eight-hour course, consisting of three hours of classroom activity and five hours of riding activities. When you register for the BRC2, you will receive an email used to register free of charge for the “”Street Strategies” eCourse on the MSF website. The Nebraska DMV requires the MSF eCourse to be successfully completed prior to attending class. The BRC2 includes a written examination and a riding evaluation, which, if successfully completed, qualifies the student for a license waiver yielding an "M" endorsement, upon approval of the Nebraska DMV.
Cost
- $160
The RRBRC is designed for the rider who has had a permit for a long time or has ridden in the past and is familiar with motorcycle operation. It is a one day, an approximate nine-hour course consisting of three hours of classroom activity and six hours of riding activities. Training motorcycles are supplied for the class. When you register for the RRBRC, you will receive an email used to register free of charge for the Motorcycle Safety Foundation “Basic eCourse” on the MSF website. The Nebraska DMV requires the MSF Basic eCourse to be successfully completed prior to attending class. Once at the scheduled class, two screening exercises are used to determine if the student has the requisite skill to complete the weekend course. The rider must possess skill demonstrating the ability to shift gears, corner, stop, and coordinate clutch, brakes, and throttle to successfully maneuver the motorcycle. If not, the RiderCoach will counsel the student to consider taking the BRC instead. The RRBRC includes a written examination and a riding evaluation, which, if successfully completed, qualifies the student for a license waiver yielding an "M" endorsement, upon approval of the Nebraska DMV. A subset of the BRC classroom and riding exercises are used.
Cost
- $190
The ARC is designed for the experienced rider who has basic skills and possess an endorsement. It would be a follow-on course to the BRC2 or BRC where the rider uses their own motorcycle. The course consists of two parts; an approximate two-hour classroom session and a five-hour riding portion. There is not an eCourse but riders would benefit from taking the Street Strategies eCourse prior to completing the ARC.
