Meet the Command Staff
Sheriff Jeff Davis
Sheriff Jeff Davis is a dedicated public safety officer, having over 35 years of service with the Sarpy County Sheriff’s Office. He is committed as a leader in his career as a law enforcement official.
Sheriff Davis began his career with Sarpy County at age 18 as a dispatcher for the Sarpy County Emergency 911 Operations Center. Davis then attained his law enforcement officer certification and became a deputy sheriff for Sarpy County. Sheriff Davis gathered experience while working in the various divisions of the sheriff's office, including Road Patrol, Investigations, Jail, and Administration. Throughout his tenure, Sheriff Davis advanced through the ranks of the office, eventually promoted to Chief Deputy. Davis was sworn in as Sarpy County Sheriff in 2005. Sheriff Davis graduated from the 155th Session of the FBI Academy at Quantico, Virginia.
Chief Deputy Greg London
Greg London began his career with the Sarpy County Sheriff’s Office in 1988. During his tenure, London has been the commander of the Administration, Road Patrol, and Jail Divisions. He was promoted to chief deputy in December 2014.
London holds a Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice and a Master of Public Administration. Both degrees were earned at the University of Nebraska at Omaha (UNO). In March 2019, the UNO School of Criminology and Criminal Justice presented London their annual Alumni Achievement Award. Additionally, London completed the FBI Law Enforcement Executive Development Program and he graduated from the FBI National Academy in Quantico, Virginia. London sits on the following: Archdiocese of Omaha Review Board and Ministerial Conduct Board; Sarpy County Sheriff’s Office Foundation Board; and Leadership Sarpy Advisory Group. Governor Pete Ricketts appointed London to the Nebraska Police Standards Advisory Council in February 2019. He is also a Knights of Columbus member.
Captain Monty Daganaar
Capt. Monty Daganaar became a law enforcement officer for the Sarpy County Sheriff’s Office in 1985. He has experience working in various divisions, including the Road Patrol, Narcotics, Investigations, Support Services, and Jail. He was promoted to the rank of Corporal in 1991, the rank of Sergeant in 1997, the rank of Lieutenant in 2002, and the rank of Captain in 2006. He is presently assigned to the Administration Division. He oversees Administrative Operations, Technical Support and Chaplain units.
Capt. Daganaar is also the current Commander of the Sheriff’s Office Bike Patrol Unit, which consists of seventeen members. He has also been an active member of the Sheriff’s Office Crisis Negotiators Unit since 1995. He is a current and active member of the Sarpy County Adult Drug Court Team, Sarpy County Law Enforcement, and Education Fund Board, and is on the Project Extra Mile Board of directors. Capt. Daganaar attended and graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice from the University of Nebraska at Omaha in 1982. He also attended and graduated from the 222nd Session of the FBI National Academy in Quantico, Virginia in 2005.
Captain Dan Shukis
Capt. Shukis has been a member of the Sarpy County Sheriff's Office since March, 1989. Capt. Shukis is assigned as Commander of the Support Services Unit. He has previous experience working in the Jail, House Arrest/Work Release, Road Patrol, Warrants, Training, Administration, and Investigations.
Capt. Shukis was promoted to the rank of Corporal in 1997, the rank of Sergeant in 2000, the rank of Lieutenant in 2009, and the rank of Captain in 2016. Capt. Shukis is a past member of the Field Force Unit and is the Crisis Negotiations Unit. Capt. Shukis participates on several committees within the Sheriff's Office and for Sarpy County, including the Employee Sick Bank, County Employee Recognition, and the Department Head Advisory Group. He coordinates the Sarpy County Medicine Drop event, where the public can voluntarily turn in prescription medication for disposal.
Capt. Shukis graduated from Bellevue University with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Criminal Justice Administration and holds a Master of Science Degree in Security Management. Captain Shukis is a graduate of the 272nd session of the FBI National Academy in Quantico, Virginia.
Captain Brian Richards
Captain Brian Richards began his career at the Sarpy County Sheriff's Office in October 1989. He is assigned to the Administrative Division. He commands Professional Standards, Policy, CALEA and the Training Unit. He is also the Project Manager for the construction of the new Sarpy County Jail. He graduated from the Nebraska Law Enforcement Academy in October 1990. Captain Richards graduated from Bellevue University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Criminal Justice Administration.
During Capt. Richards' tenure, he has worked in various divisions of the Sheriff's Office, including the Road Patrol, Narcotics, Investigations, and Jail. He also served on the Emergency Service Unit for eight years and as the Adjunct High-Risk Incident Commander. Capt. Richards was the project manager for the new Sarpy County Correctional Facility. He currently is assigned as the Investigations Division commander.
Captain Kevin Griger
Captain Kevin Griger began his career with the Sheriff's Office on January 2, 1987. He is assigned as Commander of the Road Patrol Division. Captain Griger graduated from the University of Nebraska-Omaha with a Bachelor of Science degree in Criminal Justice and was a member of the United States Marine Corps Reserve from 1983-1988. Captain Griger graduated with the 238th session of the National FBI Academy in 2009.
He previously worked as Commander of the Investigations Division. Additionally, he had experience in the Jail Division as a deputy and then supervisor. He also was assigned to the Road Patrol as a deputy, then supervisor, and as Lieutenant in the Administration Division, working in Professional Standards. Earlier assignments were in Investigations as a Deputy in the Narcotics Unit and a Sergeant in Criminal Investigations.
Captain Griger is the High-Risk Incident Commander. He was formerly the Commander for the Emergency Service Unit and had been with the team for twenty years. He is also the Program Coordinator for Project Lifesaver. Captain Griger has been an active instructor in multiple areas of law enforcement to include tactics, field training, active shooter response, and the standard response protocol.
