2022 Annual Report: A message from the Sarpy County Board

2022 Sarpy County Annual Report

Dear Sarpy County residents,

The last year in Sarpy County has been historic. In 2022, the Board of Commissioners approved Sarpy County’s lowest tax rate since at least 1985 while also funding mission-critical services and once-in-a-generation projects.

Those projects included work on the CONNECTSarpy – West Sarpy Road Program. The roadways in this 9-square mile area in northwestern Sarpy County will soon serve new schools, neighborhoods and businesses.

The county ushered in another growth milestone moment when the Sarpy County and Cities Wastewater Agency broke ground on the much-anticipated regional sanitary sewer in southern Sarpy. The project underpins the collective development of the county, the Omaha metro and the state of Nebraska.

Construction progressed on the new Sarpy County Correctional Facility, a future-focused and secure addition to our Courthouse Campus that will modernize facilities to better serve our community, inmates and Corrections Department staff.

Also in keeping with our commitment to the community, Sarpy County distributed millions of federal American Rescue Plan Act dollars to those who needed relief.

And we are proud to have honored in a small way one of our fallen Marine heroes, naming a Sarpy County Street after Cpl. Daegan Page.

We invite you to page through our Annual Report to read more about Sarpy County’s exciting updates in 2022.
