Sarpy County unveiled a street named in honor of fallen U.S. Marine Cpl. Daegan Page.
A portion of Gertrude Street from 157th and Emiline Streets to South 162nd Avenue and Harrison Streets now carries a “Cpl. Daegan Page Street” honorary designation.
“By dedicating this roadway as Cpl. Daegan Page Street, we’re hoping no one forgets Daegan’s sacrifice or the indelible mark he left on his family and our community,” said Commissioner Angi Burmeister, Vice Chair of the Sarpy County Board.
The Board unanimously approved a resolution to dedicate the street to Corporal Page. Page was among 13 U.S. service members killed in an August 2021 attack in Afghanistan.
Also to honor Corporal Page, Sheriff Jeff Davis introduced the Sarpy County Sheriff’s Office’s newest K9, named Daegan.
