Updated August 10, 2023

The first day of school is fast approaching and there are important traffic updates for the West Sarpy project area, which is part of the CONNECTSarpy program. Major construction on the West Sarpy project is anticipated to be completed this fall, which will reopen Giles Road as a major thoroughfare. At the start of the school year, traffic should direct north to Harrison Street.

Here’s what you can expect this summer and into the fall:

August 4

Cornhusker Road from 188th to 192nd Street and south on 192nd Street will reopen to local traffic.

End of August

Due to rain-related weather delays over the last month, the reopening of Meridian Street from 185th to 192nd streets and the southern stretch of 192nd Street has been postponed. The work is now anticipated to be complete at the end of August.

September through October

Work on the roundabout at 192nd Street & Giles Road will commence in September and continue through October, so traffic will need to continue detouring north to Harrison Street and over to 180th Street.

We greatly appreciate your patience and cooperation during the course of this project. We will continue to keep you updated on the latest news. Check out our website and social media platforms for more information.
