The Sarpy County Board of Commissioners on Tuesday appointed Dana Morris to serve as director of the county’s Veterans Service Office.
The office helps veterans and their families access their VA benefits through what can be a lengthy and challenging application process. Military retirees or people who separate from the military are eligible for several local, state and federal benefits.
Morris joins the Sarpy office after spending 18 years serving veterans with Douglas County.
"Dana’s extensive experience, expertise, compassion and professionalism is just what we’re looking for in the next leader of the Veterans Service Office,” Sarpy County Commissioner Don Kelly said. “Dana personifies how we want to treat veterans in Sarpy County and ensures they’ll receive the care they need and the benefits they’ve earned in service to our country. We’re excited to welcome Dana to the team and to see his leadership in action.”
The home of Offutt Air Force Base and the second largest veteran population in the state, Sarpy County is proud to support more than 20,000 veterans who live in the community as a trusted resource and partner.
Morris’ first day is Wednesday, August 30.
