Monty Daganaar


Captain Monty Daganaar became a law enforcement officer for the Sarpy County Sheriff’s Office in 1985. He has experience working in various divisions, to include the Road Patrol, Narcotics, Investigations, Support Services and Jail. He was promoted to the rank of Corporal in 1991, the rank of Sergeant in 1997, the rank of Lieutenant in 2002 and the rank of Captain in 2006. He is presently assigned to the Administration Division.

Career

Captain Daganaar is also the current Commander of the Sheriff’s Office Bike Patrol Unit, which consists of seventeen members. He has also been an active member of the Sheriff’s Office Crisis Negotiators Unit since 1995. He is a current and active member of the Sarpy County Adult Drug Court Team, Sarpy County Law Enforcement and Education Fund Board, and is on the Project Extra Mile Board of directors.

Services & Membership

Captain Daganaar is also one of two current and active licensed polygraph examiners for the Sheriff’s Office. He attended and graduated from the Virginia School of Polygraph in Virginia Beach, Virginia in 1993. He has been an active member in the Nebraska Association of Polygraph Examiners, serving as Vice President for eight years. He is currently the Secretary-Treasurer, serving in that capacity for the past three years. He is an active member of the American Association of Police Polygraphists and the American Polygraph Association.

Education

Captain Daganaar attended and graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice from the University of Nebraska at Omaha in 1982. He also attended and graduated from the 222nd Session of the FBI National Academy in Quantico, Virginia in 2005.
